Glass river coffee table in sweet chestnut
A large coffee table made from one large slab of burry Scottish sweet chestnut. A flush glass river inlay fills the void between the two live edges. The shelf below is book matched from the same slab. Complimenting the modern style of table top is a more traditional frame made from Scottish ash which has be stained to contrast the sweet chestnut.
Bonny Coffee Table - Mrk 1.
This was the first iteration of the Bonny Coffee table. We found our first customer that was excited by the concept of our Bonny Coffee table. They went with olive ash veneer and let us decide on the best pattern options.
The table top is made from our cork ply material made from layers of cork and ash. The top pattern is a 12-segment sunburst in olive ash. This has been slip matched due to the wild grain patterns - book matched can sometimes look a bit too crazy with the wilder grains.
The frame is made of ash which has been bent laminated to form the shape which will become a staple Bonny design.
The first Bonny Coffee Table
When exploring our cork-ply substrate material we found a customer that loved it so much he wanted the whole table to be done in the layers of wood and cork.
The top is made with our Bonny Ply substrate (birch & cork) with a 12-segment sunburst pattern in burr oak.
The frame was made from the same layering. The shape was achieved by glueing stepped layers of the material and then shaping them on a home made drill-powered lathe and carving disc.
BCo. x Creature Emporium space decks
In the lead up to our Artist Series collab with Blair (Creature Emporium) we did a couple of space decks as Fundee prizes. Can you guess which one is mine and which one is the artist?
