All of our products are made in house in our Dundee based workshop in Scotland. Materials are sourced from uk suppliers except where crucial ingredients are required, such as our Canadian maple used in decks and cruisers, which is sourced from a European supplier. We make sure to use all off-cuts and scraps in a variety of ways and products to ensure almost zero waste.

Many of our products are made with natural wood veneer with striking grain features and patterns. There may be slight variation in different grain for some products due to the natural nature of the material. Where possible we will make this extremely clear and feel free to specify your preferred option when purchasing and we will do our best to fulfil these wishes depending on remaining stock. All options are similarly beautiful though and will always be photographed!

The outside wood veneer is olive ash sourced from Europe. This beautiful species is a type of ash named for its tremendous grain pattern found in the heart wood of some ash trees - resembling the timber from the iconic olive trees. The inside wood veneer is Maple which we get in large sustainable quantities. Using maple on the inside means we use less of the, often more rare, front face veneer whilst making the books more affordable for our customers. Not to mention it looks bonny!
The front olive ash face is made from two piece of veneer in a ‘book match’ style. This is when consecutive veneer layers are turned over like a book to produce a mirror image.
The books are layered, glued and pressed in our Dundee workshop. They then get laser cut to produce the the precision hinge design before getting finished in a satin oil wax and heading out the door.
This portrait oriented A4 sketchbook is part of our first batch of books and new custom refills will be available for purchase in the new year - both lined notebook and blank sketchbook pads. We will be releasing a range of sizes as well as wood veneer species.
